| Call for Applications...VALUE4HER Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards – WAYA 2023 |
AGRA is a farmer-centered, African-led, and partnership-driven institution that is transforming Africa's smallholder farming from a solitary struggle to survive into farming as a business that thrives.
Established in 2006, AGRA is an African-led and Africa-based institution that puts smallholder farmers at the center of the continent's growing economy.
AGRA calls for qualifying women from any of the 55 countries that makes up the African Union to apply for it's 2023 Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards (WAYA) under it's VALUE4HER initiative. The WAYA award recognizes African female agripreneurs who have demonstrated remarkable Innovation and business excellence in the agricultural value chain.
The award categories include- Young Female Agripreneur (Rising Star) Recognizes high potential young females of 35 years and younger who have demonstrated innovation and leadership in agribusiness.
- Female Ag-Tech Innovator Recognizes female agripreneurs championing technological advancement in agribusiness.
- Outstanding Value-Adding Enterprise Recognizes female-owned agribusinesses that are increasing the economic value and/or consumer appeal to agricultural products.
- The business entity must be operating in and along the agriculture and or agribusiness value chain
- The business should be at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned and managed by one or more women who are citizens of one of the 55 African countries
- The business must be a legal entity registered and operating in at least one of the 55 African countries
- Previous winners of WAYA Awards and other competitions run by AGRA are not eligible
The winners will each receive a cash prize of USD 20,000 at the AGRF Summit in September 2023.
Application will be welcomed untill the 31st of May 2023
